Duncan has been designing gardens in Cumbria and beyond for over 20 years and has a wealth of knowledge in plants suitable for any aspect or soil conditions.

From simple border designs to full garden makeovers no task is too small or large. Duncan is passionate about garden design and works closely with his clients throughout the process to create inspirational beautiful gardens to suite their individual requirements, lifestyle and budget.

Services offered

Informal consultation

This is a service charged at an hourly rate for clients looking for ideas and inspiration but not requiring a formal design service.

Border design

Includes consultation, site analysis and survey, detailed scale planting plan.  Supply of plants and planting if required. Price is dependent on the scale of the project.

Garden design service

The cost of a design depends on the scale and complexity of the site and also if a hard landscaping design only is required or a planting plan is also to be included.

The garden design process includes the following stages:

• Initial site visit to discuss the garden and your requirements
• Client brief to be completed
• Full site survey
• Design concepts - presentation of design concepts and discussion with clients to determine which style is their preferred choice
• Detailed hard landscaping and construction plans along with planting plans if required – presentation to clients for final approval.
